Dušan Minovski (1953, Belgrade, Yugoslavia) is an artist who participated in the residency program of the Neue Galerie, International Painting Weeks, in 1984. His work The Night Is in My Head, the Earth Is in My Lungs (1984) entered the collection through this route. Like his wife Zea Fio, Minovski is considered a prominent representative of Nova Slika (New Image). His early works are expressive impasto small formats that revolve around themes of death, violence, and blood, and are charged with sexualized energy and punk symbolism. These works were very much influenced by the looming war in Yugoslavia. Later he turned to largely geometric compositions. In 1985 the artist moved to Vienna, where he lives to this day.
